TP Contest #1 to win a TP Cell Mate: Video Linking

Here's the idea.

We now have the media player hack installed here, so we can pretty much "host" whatever video you guys find on metacafe, google, youtube, etc...HERE!



A lot of us browse other forums, and we reconvene here. Why? Because our little community of car enthusiasts rocks

Basically, the contest goes like this..

1) Find your favorite video on the web, today. It cannot be a repost, so something new that we do not have already posted in the Videos section.

2) Using the [ media ] xxx.com [/ media] tags (without the spaces), "host" the video in a thread here.

3) Go around the web, or email, whatever and link for people to come and checkout the vid.

4) In the main videos forum, we can keep track of total # of views, and this is how we will determine the winner.


So step #1 for today will be to vote here if you are going to play in this contest, and find your favorite video of choice.

Tomorrow at 12AM your time, the contest begins. It will last from 5/23-5/25, so a solid 48 hours.

The winner having the most views will win a TP Cell Mate:

821 views total of the threads on those sites. Looks like only a little more than half actually clicked the link. It does give you a good idea of the traffic on each site.

I'm kinda surprised that roadandtrack actually got as many view as it did. Then again, since no one posts there, any NEW post, everyone looks at. According to the info up top there, there were 11 new posts today on the whole site.

I don't get it, on one forum where I posted that link, there are up to 340 views now of the thread. Is it possible that the counter is fuct? hmmmm

Yeah, the number of views at the different sites add up to about five times the actual count here.

But, it's pretty likely that people will view the topic at those sites without clicking the link.

Or, the counter is messed up.

I tried viewing my movie at work (1 more view for me ), then looked at the counter. It didn't move.

On a side note, one of the highest traffic sites already locked my thread.

Seems too many people got pissed off about being scared. That, and the fact it's kinda an old video.
