I like that your version takes a no-nonsense approach and trims the fat, but I think that some of the cuts are too extreme.
I agree that GMC and Hummer are pretty redundant, but theyre also relatively low cost to the General since they, for the most part, are re-bodied Chevys with higher price tags. In other words wouldnt the profit on the Yukons and H2s be higher since they would cost a similar amount to produce as the Tahoe? I agree that Buick needs to get the axe, at least here. You have to remember that in China Buick is going strong. In the states their customer base is dying off. Buick is the Lincoln/Mercury division of General Motors here. Saab is another interesting brand but like Buick, it doesnt seem to have a place in GM's lineup. I like the idea of it being an AWD brand, but I dont know if the investment required would be worth it to just chase Subaru. The problem with going after Audi is that it again would be another luxury brand, so thats a no go. I like your plan for Cadillac, but think that the Saturn, Chevy and Pontiac approaches need some tweaking. For Chevy: Aveo - desperately needs an update. Its a huge POS. Corvette, Malibu, Silverado, Avalanche and Tahoe need to stay with the forumla that works, continue to make improvements. Camaro -like you said, too early to tell. If it sells well, keep it. If not then sadly put it down. Suburban - I disagree with killing it. Why call it Tahoe XL when the Suburban is exactly that. Theres name recognition and I dont think it really got labeled by the eco-freaks the way the Excursion did. Uplander - needs to go away ASAP. They dont sell and they dont sell for a reason, theyre pieces of crap. Colorado - needs a major update as well. I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would buy one. Its overpriced, underpowered and has a HORRIBLE interior, probably the worst of any of the current Chevys other than the Aveo. TB/Equinox - combine it into one offering, but I think if theyre going to keep a name keep TB. HHR - your idea is spot on If youre going to cut Saturn, a move im 50/50 on, id push the car cast-offs to Pontiac instead of Chevy. The Cobalt sells decently(i think, the dealership I work at seems to move a few a week even when its slow), so id rather give Pontiac the Astra and kick the G5 to the curb. G8 - wait and see, but bring over the wagon. The ute version... not so sure. And thats all for now, GMI's version of Chevys revitalization is pretty unrealistic, in that theres uneccesary models, plus theres no mention of the SUVs/trucks.

Good stuff! Yeah, the counterpoint I added into mine sort of goes along with what you opened with. If a model is profitable, than it doesn't make much sense to cut it. The rebadged GMCs and Hummers could make money and they all piggy back off of other GM marques at dealerships so the extra cost of having them around may be worth it.

The cavity is likely going to be the difference between whether you love or hate the discount golf clubs. In my mind, the difference between the R9 and the r7 was subtlety. The new R9 cavity highlights the Inverted Cone Technology with a chrome arrow which sits on top of many small black ridges.
